Investigating Total Collisions of the Newtonian N-Body Problem on Shape Space

چکیده
We analyze the points of total collision Newtonian gravitational system on shape space (the relational configuration system). While equations motion, formulated with respect to absolute and time, are singular at point due singularity Newton potential that point, this need not be case where scale doesn't exist. investigate whether, adopting a description system, degrees freedom, which merely angles their conjugate momenta, can evolved through collision. Unfortunately, is case. Even without scale, motion (and only there). This follows from special behavior momenta. induces singularity, it same time provides purely shape-dynamical collisions. By help this, we able discern total-collision solutions non-collision space, is, reference (external) scale. further use show form set measure zero among all solutions.

Singularities in the Newtonian n-body Problem
In this note, we study the structure of singularities of the Newtonian n-body problem where we establish certain relations between collisions and noncollision singularities. Based on our results, we conjecture that the set of all accumulation points of collisions in the extended phase space is exactly the set of initial conditions that lead to a noncollision singularity.

We report on the first fully consistent conventional cluster simulation which includes terms up to post Newtonian in the potential of the massive body. Numerical problems for treating extremely energetic binaries orbiting a single massive object are circumvented by employing the special “wheel-spoke” regularization method of Zare (1974) which has not been used in large-N simulations before. متن کاملCentral Configurations and Total Collisions for Quasihomogeneous N-body Problems
We consider n-body problems given by potentials of the form α r + β r with a, b, α, β constants, 0 ≤ a < b. To analyze the dynamics of the problem, we first prove some properties related to central configurations, including a generalization of Moulton’s theorem. Then we obtain several qualitative properties for collision and near-collision orbits in the Manev-type case a = 1. At the end we poin...
متن کاملAction Minimizing Solutions of the Newtonian n-body Problem: From Homology to Symmetry
An action minimizing path between two given configurations, spatial or planar, of the n-body problem is always a true – collision-free – solution. Based on a remarkable idea of Christian Marchal, this theorem implies the existence of new “simple” symmetric periodic solutions, among which the Eight for 3 bodies, the Hip-Hop for 4 bodies and their generalizations. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classif...
